Plant-based Ground Beef

Here is a great place to start your transition to a WFPB (Whole Food Plant-Based) diet – a simple ground beef alternative made of only three ingredients – cauliflower, mushrooms, and walnuts.

The 7 minute video below shows you how to make it:

How to Make Vegan Ground Beef !!

Here is a simple Bolognese recipe using the result:

  1. In a food processor, chop / combine the following:
  • Grated carrots ~ 1 cup
  • Onion – 1 medium
  • Garlic – 3 cloves
  1. Chop into small pieces (almost any vegetable works . . .):
  • Red pepper – 1
  • Green beans – 1 cup
  • Kale or other leafy green stems (optional) ½ cup

Instructions

It is suggested to do this in 2 stages: Making ground beef (as per the video above) & using it in a recipe.

  1. Put items (1) and (2) in a large stainless steel pan
  2. Add 1 cup steamed mushrooms (optional)
  3. Add approximately 2 cups pasta sauce
  4. Allow to simmer until cooked; adding water as necessary
  5. When cooked al dente, add dehydrated ‘ground beef’
  6. At the end, add spices:
    1. Chopped fresh basil
    2. Oregano
    3. Optional – thyme, rosemary.
