Travelling

The Toronto Vegetarian Association has an excellent page to help travelers.

If you are looking for a place to eat abroad, we have found Happy Cow (which is a website and a free app for your phone) which lists plat-based restaurants around the world to be invaluable; other sites include Veg Guide and Veg Dining.

If you type ‘vegetarian restaurants’ or ‘vegan restaurants’ into Google Maps you can find a lot of places; TripAdvisor also has good filters for these types of food when you use the restaurant search feature.

If you are going to the USA I found a nice page that lists plant-based options at major chains. I also found a website where you can look up the nutrition information on meals and items at many restaurants and chains – see here.

When we are travelling, if I am having trouble finding a place to eat, the following types of restaurants almost always have plant-based options on their menu: Vietnamese, Thai, Indian, Mexican.
